ekoopbankerBORACAY ISLAND -- The National Confederation of Cooperatives (NATCCO) formally launched on May 22 ekoopbanker Plus, a pioneering accounting and automated teller machine system for cooperatives.

“This is a milestone not just for the NATCCO network but for the cooperative sector as well.  Interconnectivity has long been a vision of the sector,” Information Technology Department Head, Evangeline C. Lopez, said.

Under ekoopbanker Plus, member cooperatives that avail of the service will be able to provide their member depositors with basic ATM services such as withdrawals, deposits, transfers, e-loading for their cellphones which will be debited from their accounts.  The system is also provide real-time interconnectivity for cooperatives with multi-branch operations, and ultimately, inter-cooperative transactions within the NATCCO network.  It will also provide real-time financial reports which is a value-added service for co-op leaders.

NATCCO leaders report hefty growth in 2008 at 32nd General Assembly PDF Print E-mail

GA09BORACAY ISLAND, AKLAN – The 32nd General Assembly of the National Confederation of Cooperatives ended with a high note on May 23, Saturday, with the election of a new set of Board of Directors and the Assembly’s approval of the Management’s 2008 Report and the directions set for 2010.

More than 300 delegates attended the yearly affair held at the Carmela de Boracay Hotel in Boracay Island, Aklan Province.

Board Chairman, Reynaldo A. Gandionco welcomed the delegates with a Management Report, stating that the Network had weathered the effects of the 2008 Global Financial Crisis. He said: “The world economy is in shambles. The Philippine economy is quite stable. But I am happy to inform you that our Network is fine. In fact, it is in the pink of health and running against the tide.”

Cebu Peoples Coop Becomes the Pioneer Coop to Issue NATCCO-RCBC Bankard Credit Card PDF Print E-mail
wesuMembers of the Cebu People’s Cooperative(CPC) can now enjoy instant credit through  NATCCO-RCBC Bankard Credit Cards.

CPC and RCBC Bankard signed a Memorandum of Agreement last April 16  at the Chikahan sa Lahug Restaurant in Cebu.  Under this agreement, the CPC can issue to its members said credit cards.

With a total of 14 branches, the Cebu People’s Cooperative is a leading cooperative not just in Cebu but in the entire Philippines. Launched in December 21, 1972 with only 26 members, the Cebu People’s Cooperative now boasts a total membership of 15,650 regular members and 20,716 associate depositors. The NATCCO – RCBC Bankard, on the other hand, is an international card issued under the widely recognized MasterCard payment system, and is the first and only “Coop Credit Card” exclusively given to members of the NATCCO Network.
